Silvia Sidor, 63, and Humberto Agra, 64, a couple residing in Camagüey, are watching helplessly as their home falls apart, prompting neighbors to seek assistance for them on social media.

"The house is falling to pieces, and every time officials come, they say the same thing: 'We'll see what can be done.' We don't know what to do anymore. With these rains, I expect to find her dead under the house. The solution is right here, but they don't want to do anything," recounted an anonymous neighbor to journalist Alberto Arego, who shared the plea on Facebook.

The neighbor explained that Silvia Sidor is deaf and mute, and both she and her husband suffer from numerous health issues. They live on Santa Rita Street, between Santa Rosa and Santa Teresa, in Reparto San Emilio, Florida, Camagüey.

Days ago, a piece of the roof fell near Silvia. Being deaf and mute, she didn't notice it, resulting in a knee injury. The regime, however, remains indifferent.

The couple, who are economically disadvantaged, have been visited by representatives from Housing and the Government, but no solution has been provided. "They told them to tear down the house and build two rooms. With what resources, if the house is in ruins and they are given nothing?"

The neighbor pointed out that a nearby space was allocated to other "people who are not from the community"; however, the regime did not consider dividing the space, which could accommodate "up to three houses."

This case adds to the long list of individuals living on the fringes of the regime, which remains indifferent to such issues. This indifference pushes citizens to seek solutions through solidarity.

Recently, the regime's inaction prompted Cuban activists to request help on social media for an elderly woman and her nephew with Down syndrome in Camagüey, who are facing severe food shortages.

Activist Guelmi Abdul reported the case on Facebook, explaining that Iris, a 72-year-old woman, has had to take care of her 24-year-old nephew Yosvany. However, their situation is dire due to their low income.

Days earlier, the same activist highlighted a very similar situation in Camagüey, reporting on the precarious condition of an elderly woman and her son with Down syndrome, who are experiencing such a severe crisis that the woman has been forced to beg on the streets.
