Hurricane Beryl regained strength on Monday as it moved toward the Caribbean Sea, escalating back to a dangerous Category 4 hurricane after briefly weakening to Category 3.

At 11:10 a.m. (local time), the eye of Beryl made landfall on the island of Carriacou in Grenada, with winds reaching 150 mph (241 km/h), according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC). Residents of the Grenadines and Carriacou are advised not to leave their shelters, as winds are expected to increase rapidly within the hurricane's eyewall, the NHC warned.

Stunning satellite images reveal the powerful eye of this meteorological phenomenon. The hurricane is expected to move swiftly westward and west-northwestward over the next few days. In its projected path, Beryl's center will move across the southeastern and central Caribbean Sea from today through Wednesday.

The expected trajectory indicates that it will pass just south of Barbados before entering the Caribbean Sea, heading towards Jamaica and later Mexico. According to the probable path forecast, the hurricane will not affect Cuba.

The government of Jamaica has issued a hurricane warning for the island. Additionally, hurricane warnings are in effect for Barbados, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, and Tobago, while tropical storm warnings are in place for Martinique, Trinidad, and Saint Lucia.

Tropical storm warnings are also in effect for the southern coast of the Dominican Republic from Punta Palenque to the Haitian border, and for the southern coast of Haiti from the Dominican border to Anse d'Hainault.
