The announcement of an urban music concert by Bebeshito in the province of Camagüey, where reserving a table costs between 40,000 and 100,000 pesos, has sparked outrage on social media. Users are questioning the high price and accessibility of the event for the majority of the population.

A Facebook user named Yanizorro De la Vega pointed out that 100,000 pesos, at an informal market exchange rate of 350 pesos per dollar, equals about $285 for a VIP table at the Bebeshito concert. "The same price as a concert by Adele in a prime location," the user noted, reminding that the famous English singer, who has over 57 international awards, also offers tickets for 75 euros.

Chiringuito's Pizzas, a Facebook page, announced that the concert will take place on July 5th and explained that four types of tables will be offered. The most expensive option, priced at 100,000 pesos, includes a bottle of Johnnie Walker and an energy drink; the other tables are only for reservation and cost 80,000, 60,000, and 40,000 pesos respectively.

Chiringuito's Pizzas clarified: “All tables are for 4 people. All tables include entry,” and promoted the concert, which will be held exclusively at their venue. In a previous post, they specified that the price of admission (not table reservations) is 3,000 pesos, and minors can attend the concert, which starts at 11:30 pm, if accompanied by adults.

The outrageous prices have provoked numerous reactions from netizens, most agreeing that it's sheer madness for an artist to charge such an amount in a country where most people can't even afford to eat decently.

“I've concluded that with my salary, I'd have to save for an entire year to 'enjoy' a 'fascinating' concert by the 'famous' Bebeshito. My God, anyone who goes to that concert won't have enough money left to buy bread at the local store,” remarked a Facebook user named Merlyn Olga Durán Ávila.

Meanwhile, Marielis Cuadrado Valverde commented: “They are laughing at all of us. Even if it's not mandatory because it's for enjoyment and not a necessity, it's disrespectful. People who really want to go will do whatever it takes to get the money to enter.”

“The Marca Mandarina and mango brands are expensive,” said Yisselle Mederos.

Lesther Jiménez reflected: “It's true that it's a private event, and well, everyone sets their price, but artists owe their success to the people. Without the support of the masses, they wouldn't go anywhere. I think we have a lot to reflect on.”

Bebeshito is currently one of the most popular urban music artists. His recent hit "Marca Mandarina," featuring El Taiger, has surpassed 12 million views on YouTube, making it one of the most popular songs of 2024. Recently, during the playoff between Las Avispas of Santiago de Cuba and the Industriales team, the famous track echoed through the Guillermón Moncada stadium.
