The renowned Cuban political analyst Andrés Albuquerque has been urgently hospitalized in Miami after suffering a stroke. On Friday, influencer Alexander Otaola broke the news on his show, detailing that the veteran communicator underwent a type of catheterization to drain the accumulated fluid in his brain that was obstructing its normal function.

"I spoke with his wife, and she told me that Andrés is stable and has responded well to the treatment," said Otaola, who urged for prayers for Albuquerque's recovery. "He's already moving his hands and trying to speak, although the next 48 to 72 hours are critical for his recovery," he added.

At 67, Albuquerque hosts the program "Enfoque Ciudadano" on the portal Cubanos por el Mundo. Just hours before falling ill on Thursday, he had interviewed Cuban activist Norges Rodríguez about the businesses of the Castro clan abroad.

Albuquerque is a great mentor to me, a dignified gentleman who honors this community. We need him and hope he will be back to 100% soon," Ávila shared on his Facebook wall.
