Journalist Yosmany Mayeta reported on Facebook that the alleged assailant, identified as Leonel García Aguilera, also injured his brother and two friends who were present at the time.
The incident occurred in the Planta neighborhood, within the Altamira community. According to Mayeta, the young man was reportedly experiencing a nervous breakdown due to mental health issues.
The journalist mentioned that a nearby resident informed him that the mother was taken to the operating room on Sunday night, where she underwent surgery. Meanwhile, García's wife was transported to the Provincial Hospital, though no further details were provided.
"This is the version told by the neighbors," Mayeta noted.
