Thursday, July 11, 2024 by Isabella Rojas

A Cuban woman living in the United States defended herself after receiving backlash for stating that she "doesn't like the Cuban attitude." "It's a shame you discriminate against your compatriots; in the end, we all suffer the same hunger, sorry," a TikTok user responded to her comment. The woman, identified as @hemi_hf, responded in another video, explaining her statement.

"We all suffer the same hunger and hardships, but we are not the same. And yes, I do discriminate and feel ashamed every time I hear on the news that a group of Cubans were caught stealing, scamming, or committing crimes. Because one person's actions tarnish the reputation of all Cubans. That's why I'm very proud to be Cuban; I even have it tattooed on my arm," she remarked, showing her arm tattoo.

Despite facing criticism from some, many people, especially those in Orlando, agreed with her explanation after hearing her perspective.
