Former First Lady Melania Trump condemned the assailant of her husband, referring to him as a "monster" in a statement released this Sunday. She emphasized that the attacker sought to extinguish the passion, laughter, wit, and love for music that define Donald Trump's life.

On the social media platform X, Melania recounted the harrowing moment when a violent bullet struck her husband on Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania. The attack not only endangered Donald's life but also that of their son, Barron. She expressed gratitude to Secret Service agents and law enforcement officers who risked their lives to protect the presidential candidate.

“To the families of the innocent victims now suffering from this atrocious act, I humbly offer my deepest condolences. It saddens me to see you invoke your inner strength for such a terrible reason,” Melania added, showing her support for all those affected by this tragic event.

Melania also called for unity and love, stressing that political differences and games are secondary to human love and commitment. “We are all human and, fundamentally, instinctively, we want to help each other. American politics is just a vehicle that can uplift our communities. Love, compassion, kindness, and empathy are necessities.”

“We have always been a unique union. America, the fabric of our beloved nation is torn, but our courage and common sense must rise and reunite us as one.” Melania concluded her message on a hopeful note, emphasizing the importance of looking beyond political divisions and remembering the humanity that binds us: “The dawn is here again. Let’s come together. Now.”

Additionally, in her letter, the former First Lady thanked everyone who has shown their support during these challenging times, reminding that every politician is a human being with a loving family.

Her message reflects a blend of pain and hope during this crucial moment, calling the nation to unite in love and compassion in the face of adversity.

Meanwhile, Ivanka Trump, the former president's daughter, thanked Americans for their concern for her father on the social media platform X.

“Thank you for your love and prayers for my father and the other victims of today’s senseless violence in Butler, Pennsylvania. I am grateful to the Secret Service and all other law enforcement officers for their swift and decisive actions today. I continue to pray for our country,” she noted.

The former president addressed the recent attack he suffered during a rally in Pennsylvania through his social media platform, Truth Social.

“I want to thank the United States Secret Service and all law enforcement for their swift response,” Trump said regarding the actions of his bodyguards, which have been praised by several politicians both domestically and internationally.

Following the attack on Donald Trump this Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) identified the shooter who attempted to assassinate the former president as Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old resident of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.

Crooks lived in Bethel Park, located about 35 miles south of Butler, where the Republican leader's event was held. He graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2022.

He was registered to vote as a Republican, according to Pennsylvania's voter database.

The November presidential elections would have been the first in which he could have voted.
