Family members of Lianet Sosa Santos, a 31-year-old Cuban woman who was murdered by her partner in Tampa last Saturday, are requesting financial help to cover the funeral expenses for the victim. Sosa Santos, originally from Sietecito, Sagua La Grande, Villa Clara, was the mother of a five-year-old girl.

Yusleidy Sosa, who identified herself as the victim’s sister, initiated a GoFundMe campaign with a goal of $15,000. As of the time of writing, $9,025 has been raised. "I ask for your cooperation in whatever you can contribute for my sister's funeral. Thanks in advance to everyone who can help," Sosa wrote.

The Hillsborough County police arrested Silvio Ramón Franco Peralta, a 35-year-old also from Sagua, on July 13 for murdering his partner and another man, both in Tampa, within just an hour. According to local reports, around 2:00 p.m. officers responded to the 4800 block of Alvarado Drive in Tampa’s Town 'N' Country community after being notified of a deceased woman in a residence. They found Sosa with upper body injuries and declared her dead at the scene.

After committing the crime, Franco fled the scene in the victim’s truck. He drove to the outskirts of Tampa, where he got into a fight with another man, whom he also killed. The identity of the male victim has not been disclosed.

Officers attempted to stop Franco Peralta, eventually impacting his vehicle to bring it to a halt. He tried to escape on foot but was apprehended by the officers.

The suspect confessed to the police that he had gone to the other man's house and admitted to killing Sosa. He also asked for help in disposing of the murder weapon and other belongings. According to authorities, an altercation ensued between the two, and Franco fatally stabbed the man. Franco claimed the victim had drawn a firearm, but evidence did not support this assertion, officers said.

Silvio Ramón Franco Peralta faces seven charges related to the two murders and the ensuing chase: two counts of first-degree murder, armed robbery in a dwelling with assault or battery, motor vehicle theft, aggravated fleeing to elude, driving with a canceled, suspended, or revoked license, and resisting an officer without violence.
