Cubans in the U.S. Send Gas Stove to Elderly Couple in Need
Description not available

Thanks to the solidarity among Cubans, particularly the acts of kindness from those in the migrant community, some of the needs neglected by the regime on the island are being met, as evidenced by a recent donation of a gas stove to an elderly couple in need.

This act of generosity was carried out through the initiative "Aliento de Vida," spearheaded by activist Yankiel Fernández. "Last Thursday, we were fortunate enough to keep helping, this time with a gas stove that our collaborator from the U.S. sent us for an elderly couple whose stove was in poor condition, leaving them unable to cook for several days," Fernández noted on Facebook.

The activist highlighted that these acts of solidarity are made possible thanks to the "wonderful team" he has in Miami, Cape Coral, and Naples. Fernández also shared a gallery of images showcasing the joy of the elderly couple upon receiving the donation.

Community Solidarity Among Cuban Migrants

It is common for acts of solidarity to emerge within the community of Cuban migrants. Recently, Cuban comedian Limay Blanco requested help for a mother of three girls who had no place to live and was sleeping with them in a doorway. Limay, along with his wife Glenda and Lino Tomasen, known as "El Hombre de Hierro cubano," visited the neighborhood of Taco Taco in Pinar del Río to witness the conditions in which this family was surviving.

In another recent instance, a Cuban mother sought the support of her compatriots to help a child suffering from lupus, a chronic disease, whose family is in a dire financial situation. Taili Pérez, a resident of Havana, shared the case of the young boy, who attends school with her son, on her Facebook page.
