A Cuban living in Barcelona has shared a video on TikTok showcasing items in his home that represent his homeland. Among the standout objects is a Cuban flag, which he proudly takes to concerts or to the consulate, where he chants "Díaz-Canel singao."
Another piece of his homeland that this user, known as @angelo_virrey on the platform, confesses to having is a painting of the Capitolio of Havana. “So people know that in Cuba we also have a White House, folks,” he says humorously.
Additionally, his home wouldn't be complete without a Cuban passport, an essential item for anyone born on the island to re-enter the country, even if they hold another citizenship.
According to this TikToker, a true Cuban must have a set of dominoes at home. “A respectable Cuban has a set of dominoes, that's for sure,” he asserts in his testimony, where he also mentions having a sheet to keep score.
Lastly, something that cannot be missing in his kitchen is a jar of reused oil, a practice taught by his grandmother and very useful today because "oil is incredibly expensive."
