A short circuit caused the fire that consumed a Chevrolet car on the morning of Saturday, July 20th, in El Vedado, Havana.

Although initial reports stated that the fire occurred at the corner of 15th and L streets in El Vedado, a new report published in the Facebook group “Accidentes Automovilísticos en Cuba” by user Heber Montes de Oca indicates it actually happened at the corner of 19th and L streets.

The user, whose connection to the vehicle remains unclear, explained in the comments section that “while waiting in line to refuel, a short circuit occurred, and nothing could be done.”

Videos shared from the accident scene showed a dense cloud of smoke rapidly growing and becoming visible from various points in the area, attracting curious onlookers.

New images shared by Montes de Oca reveal the state of the Chevrolet after the fire. The interior was completely charred, with little chance of recovery. The presence of firefighters at the scene was also evident.
