Family members of a man injured in a traffic accident on Tuesday in Santiago de Cuba are urgently seeking blood donations for him. The man, a motorcyclist, was struck by a private taxi driver at the intersection of San Francisco and San Félix streets, right in the heart of the city.

"Please, we need your help. My grandfather has O positive blood, but O negative can also be used. Anyone who can assist, please call 58093900," wrote the man's granddaughter, Shania Jerez, on her Facebook page.

According to another request circulated online, the man "is fighting for his life" due to the severity of his injuries.

The day before, Mayeta Labrada reported a collision between a private hire vehicle (a "pisicorre") and a motorcycle, without initial information on the motorcyclist's condition.

A witness said the motorcyclist was "severely injured" and rushed to the hospital. Photos showed significant damage to the motorcycle.
