A Lada car was crushed when a wall from an abandoned building collapsed on it, after being struck by a bus just minutes earlier. The wall belonged to an old warehouse that served as a parking lot, located near the intersections of Heredia and Peralejo streets in Santiago de Cuba, according to independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada on his Facebook profile.
The reporter explained that the structure gave way after a bus from the Cement Factory in the province collided with it. In this tragic event, a 32-year-old woman, who was the mother of three young children, lost her life. She was passing through the area and became trapped under the debris. Despite the efforts of several people who tried to rescue her, she died at the scene, Mayeta noted.
According to the publication, as of now, the political and governmental authorities in Santiago de Cuba have not shown up at the incident site. Regarding the car, its owner and relatives have "begun to clear the rubble themselves, risking their own lives due to the instability of the structure."
