Cuban Woman Invests in Transforming Rented Home: "It's Not a Waste of Money, It's an Investment in My Peace of Mind"

Tuesday, July 30, 2024 by Henry Cruz

A Cuban woman living in the United States has gone viral on TikTok for showcasing the decoration of her rented home and explaining why she invests in a property that isn't hers. The star of this motivational video is @lorena_rosa_b, who in one of her recent videos responded to one of the most frequent questions she receives: whether the home she lives in is her own property. "Is this my house or do I rent? That's the question I get asked the most. And no, this apartment is not my property," she confirmed.

Lorena explained that they moved into this apartment in 2021 after living for a year and a half in a house in Hialeah, which was much smaller than the one they currently reside in. "We didn't want to pay more rent, but we weren't ready to buy," she said. Since moving in, she has been dedicating time and effort to transforming the apartment to her taste and style, with the goal of improving it day by day and creating a happy environment for her entire family.

In the video, Lorena also expressed her frustration with comments suggesting she should save the money spent on decoration to buy her own house. "Three gallons of paint and some decorations aren't going to buy me a new house. However, they will make me feel comfortable in this place that isn't my house but still feels like home," she argued.

Creating a Comfortable Living Space

The Cuban woman pointed out that, although most rentals do not allow significant modifications, it is not necessary to make drastic changes to improve the aesthetics of the place. "Living in a place that is beautiful and where you feel comfortable will make every space feel like yours, even if it isn't your property, and make the wait for your dream home less burdensome and more bearable," she concluded.

Lorena has received support and positive comments from her followers, who appreciate her honesty and the inspiration she provides to others in similar situations.
