Four individuals lost their lives in the early hours of Sunday, including a minor, due to a tragic traffic accident on the National Highway in the section passing through Villa Clara province. The deceased, whose identities have not been disclosed, were residents of the Céspedes municipality in Camagüey, according to several social media users.

In a post shared on the Facebook group "ACCIDENTES BUSES & CAMIONES por más experiencia y menos víctimas!", user Reynier S. Frómeta García detailed that the vehicle involved was an Emgrand 718, which crashed into a bridge and caught fire.

In the comments section, several users mentioned that among the deceased were two sisters and that the driver of the car was the father of twin girls. "May God give comfort to their families, and to my beautiful twins who lost their father, the driver of the car," one user wrote.

"They are from here in Céspedes, Camagüey. A very sad day for very beloved people. May God keep them forever," another user added.

Although the exact causes of the accident are not yet determined, many commenters blamed the poor condition of the road, driver fatigue, and other issues that have led to loss of life on Cuban roads. "Every day, it's getting worse due to the bad roads, poor condition of the cars, speeding, summer drinking, the stress we live under, loose animals on the road, drivers falling asleep, low-quality fuel, and people always in a hurry who end up ruining others' lives," summarized one user.

Last Thursday, a collision between a passenger truck and a car left two dead and an undetermined number of injured in Ciego de Ávila province, according to preliminary unofficial reports. Meanwhile, a total of 19 people were injured Thursday morning when a private truck used for passenger transport on the Jiguaní-Bayamo route in Granma province lost control and overturned, according to local media reports.

These incidents highlight the alarming increase in traffic accidents on the island, many of which result in fatalities.
