A building located in the historical center of Santiago de Cuba poses a structural danger to the public. Despite this, the critical situation seems to be of little concern to the ruling regime. Aris Arias Batalla, a representative from the Red Cross in the area, raised this issue on Facebook, stating, "One of the concrete beams on the rooftop is nearly detached; what are the residents of this state and family building waiting for?"

The rescuer further noted that the building also houses the educational module for the Camilo Torres health area, indicating that the potential collapse could cause injuries to healthcare workers and students. "It's better to act before a fatal accident occurs; it's better to prevent than to regret," emphasized Arias. He pointed out that the building is located at the extension of Carnicería, between San Basilio and Santa Lucía streets.

Arias Batalla also reported that several other buildings in various arteries, both in the center and the rest of the city, are in similar conditions. Although this complaint highlights a building with structural issues endangering lives in Santiago de Cuba, such scenarios are common throughout the country.

Aracelia González Díaz, a Cuban mother, lives in fear of losing her family if their home in the Cerro municipality of Havana collapses completely. In an interview with CubaNet, González described the dire state of her residence on Churruca Street, between Daoiz and Velarde, which has suffered two partial collapses and could fall at any moment.

Recently, part of the interior facade of the Higher Institute of Design (ISDi) in Havana, which had been shored up and closed since 2022, also collapsed.
