A truck plunged off a bridge while traveling on a road heading towards Berroa in Havana this Monday, but fortunately, its occupants emerged unscathed from the accident, according to eyewitnesses.
“A truck just fell off the bridge after the Santa Fe bridge, heading towards Berroa,” reported user Ricardo Andy Blanco Noy in a post on the Facebook group "Accidents Buses & Trucks for more experience and fewer victims!".
In the comments, Blanco mentioned that the truck was carrying the driver and a military personnel, who “came out with bruises, but otherwise fine.” He assured that both “walked away” from the scene.
Responding to a comment suggesting that the driver might have taken a curve at high speed, the author of the post clarified that the truck “was coming from Santa Fe, on a straight stretch,” and speculated that they might have fallen asleep.
Another user, identified as Edy Eduardo, shared a photo of the crashed truck, which was hanging off one of the bridge’s retaining walls and had sustained significant damage to its chassis, as seen in the image.
As of now, the causes of the accident and the health status of the truck's occupants remain unknown.
