The Lee County Sheriff's Office in Florida apprehended three Cuban nationals on Monday after they were caught burglarizing a vacant home in the Lehigh Acres community. The trio was discovered in the residence located on the 600 block of Columbus Boulevard after triggering an alarm, according to a report by NBC2.

Yanet Valdes, Osmel Ortiz, and Alberto Quiñones-Pérez were found at the back of the property with a box containing pillows, a shower curtain, rugs, and bottles of water. Authorities believe the Cubans gained entry through the back door using a metal pipe. A pipe was later located in a car parked near the house by the officers.

The homeowners were on the east coast of Florida when they received an alert about a possible break-in. They returned to Lehigh Acres the next day to file a report, as stated by NBC2.

In a related incident, Cuban national Diosvany Jiménez was arrested last Monday as a suspect in an armed robbery that took place in Hialeah on the afternoon of July 30. Local 10 reported on Tuesday that, according to the arrest report, the victim was approached by two armed individuals after parking in front of their home.

Furthermore, in June, another Cuban was arrested in southwest Miami-Dade just hours after stealing a trailer containing items valued at $100,000. The police report, cited by local media, indicated that the trailer held products such as tobacco, alcoholic beverages, sunglasses, and clothing.

Additionally, a Cuban residing in the United States was sentenced to 50 years in prison for leading a fuel theft ring operating across nine counties in Texas. Duniesky González, a 37-year-old resident of Dallas, was accused of orchestrating a scheme for the massive theft of diesel fuel from gas stations.
