The explosion of a motorbike, a popular means of transportation among Cubans due to the public transit crisis, ignited a fire inside a house in Santiago de Cuba, fortunately without any loss of life.

The fire occurred on Calle 6 between Enramada and Aguilera, Reparto Santa Bárbara, as reported on Facebook by independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada.

According to the reporter, "after several failed attempts by neighbors to extinguish the blaze, firefighters arrived 20 minutes after the explosion and managed to control the flames that were coming from the front of the house."

Images shared on social media show smoke billowing from the home and the damage to its facade. The photos also highlight the support of neighbors in helping firefighters to put out the fire.

Just days ago, several electric bikes were completely incinerated in a fire in front of a residential building in Camagüey, again with no injuries reported. The three motorbikes were rendered unusable after being consumed by the flames.

In the same city of Santiago de Cuba, another house caught fire following the explosion of a motorbike. Additionally, a motorbike battery exploded while it was parked near the intersection of 23rd and 26th Streets in Havana's El Vedado neighborhood.
