Cuban Immigrant in the U.S. Shares Her Early Job Experiences: "You Won't Find Work Sitting at Home"

The popular Cuban TikTok user @teresacreandoestilofg, who has been living in Miami for the past 10 years after a stint in Spain, recently shared her early job experiences in the United States with her followers.

Teresa recounted that her first job was to take care of an elderly woman for 11 days, earning $100 per day. Despite the tasks involved, which many people rejected, she decided to accept the job. "I said, I'll go, call him, tell him I'm going," Teresa explained in her video. Initially, she mentioned earning $100 per hour but later corrected herself in response to a comment expressing surprise at the high rate.

Later, Teresa found work through an agency in Miami, paying $100 for their services. Despite not being fluent in English, she managed to work in a supermarket and later as a waitress in Miami Beach. Teresa also addressed another user's claim on social media that jobs in Miami are only available through connections. "You won't find work sitting at home," she remarked, urging her followers to be persistent and apply to many places.

"I always say, when you're looking for a job, don't apply to just one, two, or three places. Apply until you find one," she emphasized.

The Cuban influencer also advised her followers to learn basic English to improve their job prospects, highlighting that it's not necessary to be an expert but to have enough knowledge to communicate and not be intimidated when approached by someone.
