A Cuban man and his partner are under investigation for organizing secret parties in an occupied mansion in Spain, following the murder of a man during one of these events over the weekend. The incident took place in a luxury mansion formerly owned by a footballer, located in a neighborhood known as Paraíso, where the Cuban host arranged clandestine parties and charged for entry, according to Diario Sur.

The latest event on Monday ended in tragedy with the death of a 34-year-old Belgian man who was shot in the chest. The Cuban man stated on a television program that the parties were private and that he is the legitimate owner of the house, although police sources indicate that the property actually belongs to a company and is considered occupied.

The National Police have taken over the investigation, and as of Tuesday morning, no arrests had been made related to the incident, which was reported at 8:55 AM on Monday, August 12. An emergency call alerted authorities to gunshots and at least one injured person. However, upon arrival, officers found the victim in a pool of blood, and despite attempts to revive him, the gunshot proved fatal.

The body was taken to a hospital for radiological tests and then to the Institute of Legal Medicine in Málaga for an autopsy. The investigation aims to clarify the circumstances of the crime and apprehend the shooter. A wide security perimeter has been established around the residence, including thorough inspections of the site and neighboring houses, in search of potential security camera footage of the crime.

Background on Illegal Parties in Spain

Such events have gained popularity during the Covid-19 pandemic and have previously ended in violence. In March 2021, a DJ known as JM Ares was murdered under similar circumstances at an illegal party in Marbella.
