Yosvany Bello Roque, a Cuban who was selling sugarcane juice from a food truck in 2023, has made a remarkable leap by opening a small restaurant in Hialeah, Florida, with his family.

Journalist Javier Díaz shared on Facebook the memory of how he first met Bello, who gifted him a sugarcane juice during their initial encounter. Díaz also noted that when he visited the new restaurant, he was surprised to see Bello wearing the same t-shirt from their first meeting. Although Díaz couldn't accept the lunch invitation, he did enjoy another delicious sugarcane juice.

Despite not yet having legalized his status in the country, Bello continues to work hard to support his children and his new business, the journalist pointed out. This enterprising Cuban shared with Díaz that his dream of "getting ahead" in the United States includes having a line of food trucks: "We already have three, which means we're doing pretty well," he noted.

Reflecting on his life in Cuba, Bello recalled working in agriculture until one day he left for the U.S.: "which opened its doors to me and has given me a great opportunity." He also mentioned that the first few years in the United States were very challenging, especially because he missed his family and children a lot, "but then you adapt and everything goes well."

Bello's story is an inspiring example of how immigrants work tirelessly to achieve their dreams and gradually make progress. A similar story is that of a Cuban couple who emigrated to the United States and set up a small mobile sugarcane juice stand in Florida. Another example is Marleny, a Cuban entrepreneur in Miami, who decided to make a living with a food truck, bringing delicious tamales to various parts of the city. Additionally, another Cuban entrepreneur started an ice cream business, which also served as a source of inspiration.
