An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.3 on the Richter scale was felt this Monday at 7:18 pm in the city of Santiago de Cuba. According to the coordinates provided by Enrique Diego Arango, Chief of the National Seismological Service, the quake was located at 19.78 degrees north latitude and 75.51 degrees west longitude.

This seismic event marks the tenth perceptible quake of 2024. In June, the ninth noticeable quake of the year was recorded in the same city, which is known for its high seismic activity. On that occasion, the earthquake was registered at 10:54 am with a magnitude of 4.3 and at a depth of 25.5 km, located 7 km south of the city.

There were no reports of material or human damage, although the tremor was felt in various localities within the provinces of Santiago de Cuba, Guantánamo, Granma, and Holguín.
