Description not available

In the early hours of today, Leinieski González Barallobre was attacked with a machete while returning from a 15th birthday party held in his neighborhood of El Caney, in Santiago de Cuba. The family of González Barallobre is unsure about the motives behind the attack, although they suspect it might be related to previous issues involving a younger family member.

"But it was my brother who got slashed," stated the complainant in an interview with journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada. Although González Barallobre sustained only minor cuts on his body, he has a more significant wound on his head. The injured man was initially treated at the Juan Bruno Zayas Clinical-Surgical Hospital due to its proximity. However, owing to the severity of his wounds, he was transferred to the Saturnino Lora Provincial Hospital.

"Here, he underwent a scan, and they stitched him up to stop the bleeding. We are now waiting for the doctors to decide when to take him to the Operating Room," said a family member.

The attack occurred on Calle Segunda de las Flores, Ketty 2, in El Caney, Santiago de Cuba. The assailant, known as "Javier," is currently detained and under investigation. The sister of the assaulted man demands that "the attacker pays for what he did," emphasizing that he could have killed her brother and the 16-year-old who was with him. As of the publication of this article, no further details about the incident have been confirmed.

In the comments section of the publication, dozens of internet users expressed resignation to the daily reports of increasing violence on the island.
