The family of Miriam Rodríguez Arias, a 57-year-old woman who went missing in Guanabo, Havana since Friday, is urgently seeking help to locate her. A Facebook report alerted the public about her disappearance at the beach east of the capital, and the incident has been reported to the police.
Marian Yin Rodríguez informed that Miriam, who hails from San José de las Lajas and suffers from senile dementia, went missing and provided contact numbers 54067852 and 55359709 for anyone with information on her whereabouts to reach the family.
"The report was filed at the Guanabo police station. She has senile dementia and is completely harmless. We haven't known her whereabouts since Friday, August 23," Yin explained in a comment on the profile of journalist and activist Marta María Ramírez.
"She was wearing this outfit that day, possibly barefoot," Yin added alongside a photo of Rodríguez in patterned leggings and a blue T-shirt.
"Please, if you see her, take her to the nearest station or notify any nearby officer and contact the number provided in the post... Thank you for your support. We are desperate," Yin pleaded.
In a post related to this case, activist Ramírez reminded the public that, in the event of a woman's disappearance, citizens can activate alerts on social media to assist in the search and to "pressure the authorities to do their job."

Meanwhile, 18-year-old Yilena Cepeda, who was reported missing for a week in Santiago de Cuba, was found safe on Friday, though the circumstances remain undisclosed.
Additionally, Kiara González, 23, who had been missing in Havana, was also found alive.
However, a young woman with disabilities named Claudia, 27, from a community in Baraguá, Ciego de Ávila, has been missing for over two weeks.
