Xian Vega, a young baseball player and the son of renowned actor Herón Vega, has decided to leave Cuban baseball behind. He traveled to Nicaragua with the goal of reaching the United States and signing with a Major League Baseball (MLB) organization.

According to a post on Facebook by journalist Francys Romero, the 21-year-old player is currently in Nicaragua under the watchful eye of coaches from the International Baseball Academy. Romero mentioned that he had previously listed Vega, who primarily plays first base but can also cover the outfield, among the top under-18 talents in Cuba in 2020.

Vega's most significant achievements came in the lower categories, as he was part of the Cuban under-23 team that competed in the Pan American Championship.
