A Hialeah resident was arrested for spying on a six-year-old girl in her home in Little Havana. Alexander Pérez Piloto, 38, was caught on camera masturbating while watching the minor through the window of the quadruplex where she lives, located at Southwest 10th Street and 7th Avenue.
The incident occurred on August 21 around 6:45 a.m. and was captured by a surveillance camera. The video shows the man peering inside the home while touching his genitals. Inside the house at the time were a 30-year-old mother and her three young children: the six-year-old girl and two boys aged eight and ten. The mother saw the man at the window.
According to Telemundo 51, the Cuban man fled in a black Honda Civic parked nearby when someone turned on a light. The girl's father, José Larrynaga, was not home at the time. He told Local 10 that a friend called to warn him someone might be trying to steal his tools. But when he checked his security cameras, he saw what had happened.
"I was outraged. I couldn't even work properly that day because of the anger I was feeling. Our daughter is terrified. She doesn't want to sleep alone," Larrynaga said.
According to the arrest report, after the media aired the video of the incident, Pérez Piloto was confronted by a family member and turned himself in to Hialeah Police on Monday. After confessing, he was charged with four counts of voyeurism and a separate charge of burglary of an occupied dwelling. As of Wednesday, he remained in custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center (TGK) with no bond set.
