Description not available

The Antonio Guiteras thermoelectric plant, which had been offline from the national electric system (SEN) since early last Wednesday, successfully reconnected this Sunday at 11:49 am.

According to a Facebook post by the Unión Eléctrica (UNE), the Matanzas-based plant has rejoined the base generation of the SEN, thanks to the collaborative efforts of entities from the Ministries of Energy and Mines, Industries, and the Unión de Industria Militar. These groups worked together to repair the malfunction that had taken the plant out of service.

"Guiteras is currently in the process of ramping up its load and technical parameters related to the operation of the unit are being checked," the post details. "Once stabilized, this machine will be able to contribute over 200 MW to Cuba," it adds.
