Live Broadcast on Canal Habana Disrupted by Power Outage

On Monday afternoon, the live broadcast of Canal Habana was interrupted due to a power outage, as reported by the channel in a Facebook post. "Dear viewers: We inform you that due to the lack of electrical supply, the live signal of Canal Habana was affected, and some of our regular programs were not broadcasted. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause," the channel wrote on the social media platform around 6:00 p.m. local time.

Although the initial post ended with "news in progress," there were no updates or further explanations about the incident, and the message was later edited. In the comments section of the post, about an hour after the initial message, they indicated that the live signal had been restored.

The interrupted program was reportedly Habana Noticiario, which, according to comments, would be aired later in the evening. Several users pointed out that this is not the first time the channel's signal has been disrupted, while others questioned why the station does not have a generator. One user remarked that even many hospitals in Cuba lack functional generators.

This is not the first television blackout in recent months. In July, Cuban singer Annie Garcés, one of the performers of the song "Patria o Muerte por la Vida," experienced a power outage during the recording of the program "En tiempo real" at the Canal Caribe studios.

Despite the fact that residents of Havana do not suffer from power outages as severely as those in other parts of the country, last Friday the Empresa Eléctrica de La Habana announced the need to increase blackouts to four hours in the capital due to a significant deficit in the electrical generation of the National Electric System (SEN).
