61-Year-Old Cuban Man Shows Off Dance Moves on TikTok: "I'm as Active as a Sports Car"

Saturday, September 7, 2024 by James Rodriguez

For those who believe that reaching senior age might be a barrier to fully enjoying life, Cuban resident Jorge Rubios proves them wrong through social media. At 61, almost 62, he has all the energy to show off his dance moves to “Marca Mandarina," a hit song by El Taiger and Bebeshito, in a TikTok video like someone in their twenties.

"What a great vibe, here chilling at home, you know, 61 going on 62 but I'm as active as a sports car, we do everything here," he says at the beginning of the video, beer in hand. He then starts dancing to the music, and to everyone’s surprise, his movements and flexibility are impressive for his age, never missing a beat as he grooves down to the floor.

Another thing that becomes crystal clear in this video is that Jorge Rubios' musical tastes are very much in tune with the younger generation. As expected, his followers on TikTok couldn't help but react to the video: "I'm your age and I don't even have the energy to breathe"; "That's how you enjoy life, that's the attitude I like"; "Blessings to you, keep enjoying life to the fullest"; "Age doesn't matter, it's all about attitude, you're a young dude"; "Age is just a number, keep living life to the fullest"; "I want to be like you when I grow up, hope you live another 100 years"; "There's biological age and spiritual age; what you have is accumulated youth."
