Sunday, September 8, 2024 by Ernesto Alvarez

Martha Betancourt, the Cuban mother who moved thousands of internet users this week with her emotional plea over her missing daughter, who was missing for two days before being found, appeared in a brief video on TikTok. The woman expressed her gratitude for the help received and, without specifying exactly the cause or circumstances under which her daughter, Saray Rodríguez, was found, she said that although "her conditions were not the best" at the time of being located, the important thing is that she is alive.

"To all my friends, please, to everyone who cooperated to help me with my daughter, everything has been resolved. They found her. Thanks to everyone who cooperated, thanks to everyone who helped me," said the woman, calmer than in her previous plea but still with a worried look.

"God's blessing be upon all of you, and may your voices always be strong and powerful to continue helping all those in need," she added.

"Her conditions are not the best, but she's okay, she's okay, thank you all," Martha Betancourt concluded. The Cuban mother reiterated the message in another written post on the mentioned social network.

Saray Rodríguez, 27 years old and a resident of San José de las Lajas in the province of Mayabeque, had left for Havana on Wednesday and had since lost contact. The young woman's phone, who is the mother of three children, was out of signal. It was reported that Saray's husband had filed a report with the police, but they said they only act after 72 hours have passed.

In recent times, reports of missing persons in Cuba have become frequent, causing concern among families who desperately turn to social media for help in locating their loved ones due to the lack of an official channel to make these cases visible.
