On September 8, the festivities honoring Our Lady of Charity of El Cobre, the Patroness of Cuba, were deeply significant both on the island and abroad. Images of devotees praying for the Cuban nation and their loved ones, adorned in yellow clothing and carrying yellow flowers—particularly sunflowers—were prominent. The statue of the Virgin was paraded through various towns and cities, a recurring tradition on this special day.

In Santa Clara, the Diocese had a unique initiative, serenading the "mambisa" Virgin, as she is also known, with "Las Mañanitas," a traditional Mexican birthday song. The streets of cities like Pinar del Río and its municipalities were filled with worshippers honoring the image of the Cuban Virgin.

The celebration was more modest in the town of Unión de Reyes in Matanzas, as well as in Las Tunas, where attendees gathered in Vicente García Park. In Florencia (Ciego de Ávila) and Cienfuegos, processions with devotees of the Virgin also took place.

Outside Cuba, both Cubans and believers of Our Lady of Charity of El Cobre gathered in churches and places of worship. In Barra de Coyuca, Guerrero, Mexico, devotees assembled around the image of the Virgin and walked it through the town. In Puerto Rico, at the Parish of Our Lady of Charity of El Cobre in San Juan, she was remembered as the Patroness of Cuba and of local communities such as Buena Vista, Las Monjas, Parada 27, Urbanización Piñeiro, and the Renaissance Square Complex in Hato Rey.

Finally, at the Ermita de la Caridad in Miami, week-long celebrations concluded with a raffle dedicated to the Virgin.
