A serious accident occurred this Monday on the highway connecting Havana with Pinar del Río when an electric motorcycle was struck by a police patrol car. Yoel Herrera, an eyewitness, reported in the Facebook group “ACCIDENTES BUSES & CAMIONES por más experiencia y menos víctimas!” that the incident took place shortly after the 114 bridge, heading towards Pinar del Río.
Herrera explained that the motorcyclist attempted to cross behind some plants dividing the lanes, which caused him to appear unexpectedly in front of the patrol car, leaving no time to avoid the collision. Herrera assisted the motorcyclist to CIMEQ Hospital, emphasizing that he was unconscious and severely injured.
“I couldn't find out anything more; it was out of my hands. The man stayed with one of the police officers from the patrol car,” Herrera noted.
