A family in Holguín experienced a frightening ordeal on the night of September 9th when three individuals, allegedly armed with machetes and knives, attempted to rob their home.

The incident was reported on social media by a user identified as Max Max, who detailed the events and expressed gratitude for the swift intervention of authorities and neighbors. They managed to capture one of the assailants while the other two remain at large.

According to the report, the events unfolded around 10:30 p.m. when the individuals entered the yard with the apparent intent to steal a mare.

One of the suspects, identified as Y. M. P., was recognized by the community as someone with a criminal record.

During the incident, a verbal confrontation occurred with Juan Carlos Zúñiga Cuza, Max Max's brother-in-law, who claimed he was threatened with a knife while trying to prevent the robbery.

After the neighbors intervened, the three individuals managed to escape into the countryside but returned about an hour later. According to the account, they entered another neighbor's yard and allegedly stole poultry.

Community Alert and Police Response

The tension in the neighborhood escalated, and residents remained vigilant until one of the suspects, Mulet Pupo, was spotted again in the area.

Finally, close to midnight, neighbors alerted the National Revolutionary Police (PNR), who proceeded to arrest the suspect at his home.

Y. M. P. was found hiding under a bed, covered with sheets and mosquito nets. Allegedly, a machete, a knife, and the stolen poultry were found in his possession.

Max Max expressed his thanks on social media to the neighbors and authorities for their quick action, and he called for cooperation in locating the other two suspects who are still on the run. He also urged sharing the information to alert the community about these events.

Although the investigation is ongoing, the case has sparked concern among local residents, who are calling for increased security and peace in the neighborhood.
