Alexander Abreu couldn't deliver his usual high-energy performance during the recent concert of Havana D’ Primera in Cancún, Mexico, due to not feeling well physically. The leader of the Cuban band apologized to all attendees through the orchestra's official Facebook page.

"Good morning. Yesterday was a tough day for me. I couldn't do more during my concert in Cancún. Imagine singing in a sauna; I think it was 50 degrees Celsius. I want to add that the start time was set by the venue that hired us. Havana D’ Primera is ready from early on," the musician clarified in his post.

"My sadness is that there was a beautiful audience, people I hadn't seen in a long time, lovely people who waited for me to sing with them, and I couldn't give them 100 percent of myself. I almost lost consciousness; if I had stayed one more second, I think I would have... A thousand thanks to the young man in the audience who sang 'Me dicen Cuba' from below. For me, that was the most exciting part. I owe you more, my people. Thank you," added the artist.

Several concertgoers wrote in the comments that the most important thing is his health and thanked him for staying until 2 a.m. to please the audience. Despite only being able to sing for an hour, he made them dance and enjoy themselves despite the venue's poor conditions and high temperature.

In recent days, Havana D’ Primera has had several performances in the Aztec country. In Mexico City, they made the audience dance at Mamá Rumba, a nightclub where Cuban music is played.
