A Cuban resident in Hialeah was arrested after attacking his girlfriend and her 12-year-old daughter with a baseball bat during a domestic dispute early Friday morning.
The Hialeah Police Department identified the assailant as Jorge Luis Castillo Cárdenas, 35, who not only struck both victims but also made "inappropriate advances" towards the child and attempted to kiss her, according to media reports.
According to the arrest report, the incident occurred shortly after midnight on Thursday, following an evening of alcohol consumption with a cousin outside the home. Castillo's girlfriend told authorities she returned home around 11:30 p.m. and found him drinking outside. An argument ensued after he entered the house.
The altercation escalated when Castillo made "unwanted advances" towards the girl, even attempting to kiss her after she exited the bathroom, which she repeatedly refused. Castillo's girlfriend reported to officers that he became increasingly violent, grabbing her by the hair and slapping her face.
