Former President and current presidential candidate Donald Trump has once again shifted his focus to immigration, accusing his opponent, Democrat Kamala Harris, of being responsible for what he sees as increasing security issues in the country. He made these claims on his social media account, leveraging the immigration topic as a central theme of his campaign and calling for the closure of the Mexico border.

Trump criticized the recent debate organized by ABC News, where he expressed concerns about border security and the need for stricter immigration policies. He defended his stance by arguing, "The country must prioritize the entry of people who respect the laws and contribute to national development."

“Our borders must be closed, and terrorists, criminals, and the mentally ill should be immediately removed from American cities and towns, deported back to their countries of origin,” Trump reiterated, emphasizing the sensitive nature of the immigration issue.

The former president stated that the U.S. should welcome individuals who love the country and meet certain conditions. According to Trump, “The world is laughing at us like fools,” adding that immigrants “are stealing our jobs and our wealth. We can't let them keep laughing,” concluding with his campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again!”

Trump's comments came a day after police detained a suspect for gunfire heard near the Trump International Golf Course, where the businessman was playing golf. Authorities found an AK-47 rifle, two backpacks, and a GoPro at the scene.

Regarding the incident, Trump expressed satisfaction with the actions of the United States Secret Service, Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, and everyone involved in apprehending the suspect. “The work done was absolutely exceptional. I am very proud to be an American!” he wrote on social media.

His rival, Harris, expressed relief that Trump was safe upon learning about the incident. “I have been informed that there were shootings near former President Trump and his property in Florida,” the current Vice President of the United States stated on social media.

Since before his official nomination for the White House, Trump has pledged to deport immigrants. In May, during an interview with Time Magazine, the businessman emphasized the need to address what he calls "an unsustainable immigration crisis" using police, the military, and even the potential creation of detention camps for immigrants.

Even during his recent televised debate with Harris, he made harsh statements against immigrants, a narrative that has been questioned but continues to be propagated by the former president.
