The National Electrical Union (UNE) of Cuba received a donation from the People's Republic of China on Tuesday, consisting of 10 generators that will help enhance the island's energy capacity. The handover ceremony took place at the GEYSEL entity, where UNE representatives accepted the equipment, which will contribute a total of 18 MW to the energy system and be distributed between the provinces of Sancti Spíritus and Cienfuegos.

According to information shared by the entity on Facebook, two generators will be installed at motor sites in the first province mentioned, while the remaining eight will be allocated to the second. This comes at a time when Cuba's energy crisis seems to worsen by the day, shattering government promises of a possible resolution to the situation that continues to burden Cubans.

In their daily report posted on social media profiles, the UNE forecasted a Tuesday with more than 1,000 MW of power outages during peak hours. To make matters worse, the regime has found the perfect excuse to justify the prolonged blackouts that the population suffers daily: the theft of oil from electrical transformers.

A televised report claimed that the theft of the lubricant causes significant damage to the infrastructure and results in prolonged service outages, leaving neighborhoods and communities without power for more than 24 hours at times.
