A Cuban owner of a small moving company in Miami has disclosed the Florida cities where his fellow countrymen are relocating. According to the services for which he is hired, the current favorite is Cape Coral in Lee County. This city is reportedly home to the happiest people in the state, based on a study published by WalletHub.
"The city of progress is bustling. I go there daily with two or three trucks," he stated.
In second place is Naples, located in Collier County, followed by Lehigh Acres in Lee County. However, he noted that the latter has become crowded, causing people to leave.
"It seems the house prices are what’s enticing them," he remarked.
In fourth place, according to his experience, is Ocala in Marion County, and in fifth, Jacksonville in Duval County.
The businessman, who identifies on TikTok as mudanzasmiami, mentioned that while he doesn’t make trips outside of Florida, many Cubans have contacted him about moving to Houston, Texas, and Kentucky.
In a video he shared on social media last January, he asserted that many families are leaving Miami due to the exorbitant rental prices.
"Miami is unlivable, folks. Honestly, I don’t know how people can live here," he commented.
He added that many people have had to move in with their entire families because they can’t afford the rent on their own, and he questioned how those earning minimum wage are managing.
Rent prices in Miami have significantly increased in recent years, forcing many immigrants to settle elsewhere.
