A year and a half after being violently attacked with a machete during a robbery in Holguín, young Cuban Lester Domínguez is still undergoing rehabilitation in Havana, although his recovery is progressing slowly. Lester, who has been unable to walk since the assault, began a new treatment at the Julio Díaz hospital in Havana in July, coinciding with his birthday.

Two months later, his father reveals that "he is gaining sensitivity and mobility." "His recovery is slow," said Dennis Domínguez on his Facebook page, noting that his son still needs to gain weight. "There we see him doing exercises to improve his movements. And let me tell you, he remains focused on his rehabilitation to see how far he can go. Lester has an incomplete C5 spinal cord injury. (...) Where we need to work more is on the trunk; the hand and leg parts are doing very well," he detailed.
