A Cuban and a Venezuelan starred in a video where they humorously compare their countries, highlighting similar issues like the lack of freedom of expression and the high cost of internet access.
Polarih (@polarih_) shared a TikTok video featuring himself and a Venezuelan, where they draw parallels between their nations. They start by discussing internet service, agreeing that in both Cuba and Venezuela, access to the web is exorbitantly priced.
“We don’t have freedom of expression,” the Venezuelan declares, to which the Cuban quickly responds, “Neither do we.”
“They cut off our water and electricity,” the Venezuelan points out. His video partner, referring to the current power outages in Cuba, adds, “They cut ours off too.”
In a final exchange, the Venezuelan states, “Maduro is a ‘mmgvo’ (mamaguevo),” while the Cuban, unsurprised, replies, “Miguel Díaz-Canel is a singao.”
Common Struggles Under Totalitarian Regimes
Despite their geographical differences, both countries share a common fate under totalitarian regimes that have severely restricted their citizens' basic freedoms.
