Residents of Havana apprehended a thief and kept him restrained on the ground for over two hours, the time it took for the police to arrive and take him into custody. The incident occurred at the intersection of 23rd and 36th streets in the Playa municipality.

"Cubans forced to take justice into their own hands and capture a criminal due to the inefficiency of the PNR," reported the Facebook page "La Tijera."

According to the information, the individual was caught and "roughly handled" by the community. The crowd kept the thief tied up until a patrol car finally arrived. Images shared online show a crowd surrounding the police car as officers placed the man inside.

A witness revealed that there were two thieves, but one managed to escape. "This one suffered injuries to his mouth, reportedly from a bat," added Armando Soil.

Details about what the thief attempted to steal or the location of the attempted robbery were not disclosed.
