Delay in Visas for Matanzas Cocodrilos Team Forces Changes in Spanish Baseball Tournament

Due to delays in visa issuance, the Cuban baseball team, Matanzas Cocodrilos, has postponed their trip to Spain, necessitating adjustments to the schedule of the Catalan Baseball Week. Despite these setbacks, the island’s team is expected to depart for Spain on September 25 to participate in the tournament in Barcelona, according to the Facebook page "Por La Goma."

The four-team competition will feature the Cuban champions from the Elite League, the host team from Catalonia, the All Star Spain team, and Algodoneros de Guasave from Mexico. Initially, the Cocodrilos were slated to debut on September 24, but the recent changes have rescheduled their first appearance to Friday, September 27.

Matanzas Cocodrilos Team Roster

Catchers: Andrys Pérez and reinforcements from Las Tunas, Yosvani Alarcón.

Infielders: Adrián Pérez, Yariel Duque, Luis Sánchez, Yordan Manduley (Holguín), and Yordanis Samón (Camagüey).

Outfielders: Ariel Sánchez, Eduardo Blanco, José Noroña, Yosniel Camejo, José Pren, and Alexander Pozo (reinforcement from Artemisa).

Pitchers: Noelvis Entenza, Renner Rivero, Yamichel Pérez, Dennis Quesada, Roilan Averoff, Pedro Mesa (Cienfuegos), Danny Betancourt (Santiago de Cuba), Dachel Duquesne (Ciego de Ávila), Yasmani Velázquez (Guantánamo), Jesús Enrique Pérez (Holguín), and Leandro Martínez (Granma).
