A customer publicly complained on social media that the store “La Infancia”, located at 23 and 6 in Havana, refused to pull a spoiled product from its shelves despite her warning.
Bárbara Lazo Suárez reported in the Facebook group “Gobierno de La Habana” that on Sunday, September 22, she purchased an item from the store. When she tested it at home before giving it to her grandson, she discovered the product was spoiled.
Lazo returned to the store not to ask for a refund, but to alert the staff and request that the item be removed from sale to prevent harm to other customers. However, according to her complaint, the manager was not present, and the employee in charge informed her that they “couldn't” take the product off the shelves.
Outraged by the situation, Lazo took to social media to question whether it would take an outbreak of diarrhea or something worse for the authorities to act and stop the sale of spoiled products.
Calls for Action from Authorities
The customer expressed hope that measures would be taken to prevent health issues among consumers: “I hope the relevant authorities do something about this.”

Michel Alayon shared on Facebook that during a fair in Sancti Spíritus, he bought a yogurt that he described as tasting like “crap mixed with bread flour.”
