Father Misses Daughter's Birthday Call, But Brother in Italy Reaches Out

Tuesday, September 24, 2024 by Isabella Rojas

María Vargas Aventín, mother of Sofía, the youngest daughter of Cuban urban music singer Alexander Delgado, openly shared the details of her daughter's eighth birthday. The special day, celebrated in Orlando where they recently moved, was notably marked by the absence of her father, the leader of Gente de Zona.

In a video, Sofía's mother pointed out that the Cuban singer did not call his daughter on her birthday, although he did wish her well in an Instagram post with old photos of the girl. According to María, this affected Sofía. "Sofi was waiting for his call. He had promised her a gift. Six months ago, he promised her a puppy, and she's been waiting all this time. But it couldn't happen; he couldn't even call. I imagine he's busy and couldn't make it. Who am I to judge him?" said Sofía's mother.

Family Support Amid Father's Absence

"I won't deny that as a mother, I get upset and react poorly. Sometimes I say things I shouldn't, but we all want our children to be happy, and these actions hurt our kids," María added.

Despite Alexander Delgado not contacting his daughter, other paternal relatives did reach out to congratulate Sofía, including her sister Kuki. Additionally, María highlighted that her brother in Italy called as well. "Her little brother from Italy also called her. She gets along very well with him. That's from her father's side," María revealed, disclosing that the Cuban singer has another son residing in Europe. This revelation surprised María's followers, who commented on her post.

Celebration Filled with Love and Gratitude

Although Sofía missed a call from her father on her eighth birthday, María assured that the girl had a wonderful time and was happy. "Everyone on my side called and congratulated her. I am very grateful because we were able to give her a great party. We have built a wonderful family, and instead of feeling sad, I choose to feel thankful," María concluded in her message.
