Spanish TikTok user Nury Calvo (@nurycalvosn on TikTok) posted a humorous video where she attempts to decipher the meanings of various Cuban expressions such as "Asere, qué bola", "Irse para el yuma", "Te voy a tirar un cabo", and "Las tengo a pululu". This entertaining experiment has delighted her Cuban followers.
In the clip, Nury faces the challenge of understanding at least five out of ten Cuban phrases thrown at her by a Cuban native. "I’ve bet on a dinner that I can guess at least 5 Cuban expressions out of the 10 he’s going to tell me," she says at the start of the video. Some of the phrases she tries to figure out include "Completo Camagüey", "Estoy arriba de la bola", and "Coger botella", among others.
The video sparked laughter and comments from her followers, with many leaving remarks like, "You nailed it", "Loved this video, go Cuba and Spain", or "You clearly live in Miami", poking fun at the influence of living in a city known for its large Cuban population.
