A Cuban woman residing in Miami has shared her tips for individuals arriving in the United States for the first time. Claudia Miranda, who goes by @claudia050992 on TikTok, offered a series of basic recommendations. In her video titled "Things You Shouldn't Do When You Arrive in the United States," the Miami resident first warns about the high cost of living in the city. "It's extremely expensive; rents are very high, and if you find a job, it will likely be at minimum wage," she notes.

Advice on Housing

Her next suggestion is for newcomers without friends or family to host them temporarily. Miranda advises seeking a more affordable place to live. "Don't rent something you can't afford yet," she cautions.

Transportation Tips

Another piece of advice she offers is to buy a car, emphasizing that mobility is crucial in most states. However, she warns against purchasing a new car or taking out a loan immediately. "Try not to get into a car payment in the first few years," she advises. Instead, she suggests finding a vehicle that allows you to commute between your home and work without incurring significant expenses.
