Cubano Sparks TikTok Debate: Saving $700 in Three Months Outside Miami

Monday, September 30, 2024 by Felix Ortiz

A Cuban man has sparked a flurry of comments on TikTok after revealing that he managed to save $700 in just three months since leaving Miami. In the video, user driven369 laughs at how people in the sunny city live for Instagram photos, but find saving money a near-impossible task.

Holding cash in hand, he explains how he accumulated $700, emphasizing that saving in Miami is almost unachievable. "You always live paycheck to paycheck," he says, describing the constant financial stress. He also shares his experience of dining out, claiming that restaurant bills are inflated, leaving people "drowning like shipwrecked sailors."

The video has ignited a significant debate. Some viewers support his view: "If you live in Miami and earn $15 an hour, of course, you can't save money. But if you make over $30 an hour, you can save," one commenter notes. Others, however, disagree: "In three months here in Miami, I can easily save $3,500. Stop blaming Miami."

The discussion is ongoing. Is Miami a city where people only live for social media appearances, or can one save money with the right salary?
