Cubans in Miami Take on Alligator-Infested Waters: "Don't Say We're Not Brave"

Tuesday, October 1, 2024 by Elizabeth Alvarado

Two Cuban workers in the United States found themselves in a nerve-wracking situation while on the job in Miami. They were installing tiles on a wall in a water-filled area, which would be a routine task if not for the presence of alligators in such locations, as highlighted in their video.

While one of the men filmed, the other continued working immersed in the water. "Check this out, folks. Look at Tato in the alligator lake," commented the one recording. Meanwhile, the man in the water carried on with his task, adding, "With the alligator right there, and people say Cubans aren't brave."

Despite the obvious dangers, the Cubans chose to face the possibility of encountering an alligator head-on. The video shows that instead of displaying fear, they maintained a relaxed and humorous attitude about the situation.

The footage quickly went viral on TikTok, shared by the user @danyre91, and the reactions were swift and varied. Among the comments were remarks such as, "They'd have to pay me a lot for that job," "If you're afraid of dying, don't be born," and "Blessings, but don't end up in the news because of scaffolding."
