Body of Infant Found in Restroom of Cuban Restaurant in New York City

The lifeless body of a newborn was discovered inside the restroom of a Cuban restaurant in New York City on Monday morning.

The tragic discovery occurred shortly before 10 a.m. at Sophie's Cuban Cuisine, situated on Fulton Street in Lower Manhattan, as reported by American media outlets. Authorities suspect that a woman gave birth in the restaurant's restroom sometime during the night on Sunday. The infant's body was not found until the morning when an employee arrived to prepare for the establishment's opening at 10:30 a.m.

Police responded to a 911 call and found the baby unresponsive upon arrival. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death, and the age and gender of the newborn have not been disclosed.

Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage from the area to identify individuals who were present at the restaurant during the estimated time of the incident. As of now, no arrests have been made and no further details have been released.
